Lynn McLaughlin

Podcast Host, Best-Selling and
Award-Winning Author,
Consultant for Aspiring Authors,
Former Superintendent of Education
Lynn McLaughlin is a life-long educator and entrepreneur, owner of Lynn McLaughlin Co. She is driven, through her personal experiences, to help us become self-advocates, leading and empowering us to make conscious and positive choices.

Lynn's four part series, "Time to Publish" which has lead many writers on their publishing path, was developed through her own experiences, consultation with other authors and hundreds of hours of research.

Lynn is a successful, best-selling and award-winning author, educator, motivational and public speaker. She will be celebrating the one year anniversary as host off her podcast, "Taking the Helm" where we meet people who are risk takers and steering us all in the right direction in our personal or professional lives. These men and women exude positivity, are shifting mindsets and leading social change for the better good in our communities.

She has experience in public speaking engagements locally, provincially and internationally.

Lynn is an active Rotarian committed to local community causes. She is a member of 100 Women Who Care Windsor/Essex and works tirelessly to support the goals of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. She has just joined the National Advocacy Committee as a Community member. Lynn strives to meet each new personal goal and completed her first Detroit International 1/2 Marathon in November 2019.

Lynn McLaughlin was the Superintendent of Education with the Greater Essex County District School Board for six years, retiring in September of 2018. She is well versed in all areas of special education, school and board operations. Lynn also served in three different school boards as a school administrator, teacher and educational consultant. In addition to her business, Lynn continues to be active in education, teaching future Educational Assistants at St. Clair College.

Although she would say it was a lifetime ago, Lynn retired as the Executive Officer of H.M.C.S. Prevost after thirteen years in the Canadian Forces Naval Reserve. She was one of a growing number of women moving into executive roles.
